Il Girasole Trattoria in Logan Square Joins Chicago Restaurant Week

Il Girasole Trattoria, Logan Square’s newest culinary treasure, is thrilled to announce its participation in Chicago Restaurant Week 2025. Restaurant Week runs from January 24 through February 9. 

Located at 2700 N. Western Ave., Il Girasole Trattoria has quickly become a standout in the neighborhood since its opening in July. It offers an authentic taste of Italy infused with the expertise of seasoned restaurateurs.

Behind Il Girasole Trattoria are its owners, Chef Rodolfo Hernandez and GM Christian Hernandez. They bring decades of experience from some of Chicago’s most renowned Italian establishments, including Coco Pazzo, Riccardo’s, Bice, and Piccolo Sogno. Their passion for delivering exceptional Italian cuisine and warm hospitality has culminated in a dining destination that feels like home in Logan Square.

As a proud participant in Chicago Restaurant Week, Il Girasole Trattoria offers a delectable three-course prix fixe menu for just $45. Diners can experience the depth of its culinary offerings by choosing one item from the following sections: Antipasti, Secondi, and Dolce. 

The full menu includes:

Antipasti (Choose One)
• Soup:  Any soup from the regular menu or specials.
• Insalata Caesare Lettuce romaine, light mustard dressing, anchovies, & shaved parmesan.
• Insalata Tricolore:  Endive, pear, gorgonzola, caramelized walnuts & honey dressing.
• Arancini Milanese:  Saffron rice balls with mozzarella & green peas.
• Fava e Pecorino:  Steamed fava beans topped with black truffle carpaccio & pecorino cheese shavings.
• Insalata di Barbabietole:  Baked beet carpaccio with oranges, micro arugula & crumbled goat cheese.

Secondi (Choice One)
• Gnocchi con Salsa Andalusa:  Gorgonzola gnocchi in tomato cream sauce.
• Lasagna Bolognese: Layered lasagna in béchamel, veal & beef ragu, marinara & parmesan cheese.
• Risotto Piano Piano:  Aged carnaroli rice, a touch of butter, and parmesan cheese, covered in black truffles.
• Baccala Livornese:  Baked cod with tomato broth, black olives, capers, red onion & white wine.
• Maialino alla Milanese:  Breaded & pan-fried pork loins with arugula and grape tomato.
• Pollo Parmigiana:  Breaded & pan-fried chicken breast topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, served with truffle fries.

Dolce (Choose One)
• Tiramisu:  Espresso & vanilla-soaked ladyfingers with mascarpone cream.
• Panna Cotta:  Vanilla bean custard topped with caramelized crust.
• Ricotta Cheesecake:  Ricotta cheesecake with raisins and vanilla ice cream.
• Gelati e Sorbetti:  Mix & match flavors of chocolate, pistachio, vanilla, strawberry, cinnamon, raspberry & lemon.
