With winter months quickly approaching, B. Hospitality Co. restaurant group has designed a new way for diners to safely visit their restaurants The Bristol, Nonna’s and Formento’s indoors. While they have explored the idea of maintaining outdoor dining through the colder months, they ultimately decided that Chicago’s frigid temperatures would infringe upon guests and their dining experience.

As noted from scientists in The Wall Street Journal, the key to preventing COVID-19 indoors is through ventilation. Together with HVAC and air filtration specialists, B. Hospitality Co. owner Phillip Walters has created an internal five tier air system to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

  1. Sterilization of the spaces daily using Sterilizek technology.
  2. Installation of hospital-grade, MERV-13 air filters to their HVAC systems.
  3. Utilization of AF3000 “autoclave” filters for every 500-feet.
  4. Offering individual portable ionic air purifiers to every table.
  5. Sterilization of all dining surfaces and utensils between uses with the proper sanitizers, followed by scanning all surfaces with a UV-C germicidal LED surface sterilizing wand.

Please see here for a video outlining their five tier air filtration plan and below for more detailed information on how guests can experience this.

All B. Hospitality Co. restaurants are deep-cleaned on a daily basis by professionals who help uphold the aforementioned standards of cleanliness.
STEP I
Sterilizek technology ensures all restaurants are as clean as possible before guests enter.

  • Doctor-recommended nanotechnology state increases sterilization effect by 30 times by using four blue, negative-ion lamps and an antimicrobial spray to kill 99.9% of germs, viruses and bacteria on surfaces.

STEP II
Guests receive a temperature check as they proceed to walk into the restaurant.

STEP III
Installations of two new air filters recommended by the CDC and ASHRAE) AF3000 “autoclave” Air Purifiers and MERV-13.

  • MERV-13
    • Filters that are at least 85% effective in capturing particles measuring 1 to 3 micrometers.
    • When combined with other sterilizing techniques, MERV-13 filters greatly reduce the possibility of airborne transmission of pathogens, including the COVID-19 virus.
  • AF3000 “autoclave” Air Purifiers
    • Works by taking in “contaminated” air and passing it through the ducts of a TSS patented ceramic core that operates at 400°F, destroying any air impurities or pathogens.
  • The sterilized air is then cooled and returned to the surrounding environment.
  • B. Hospitality Co. has installed enough of these filters to cover the square footage of all of their restaurants.

STEP IV
Individual portable ionic air filters use both negative ions and ozone to sterilize the air for our guests individually. The hostess offers guests these individual air filters free of charge for the table. These further sterilize the air and give ease to those sitting close without masks.

STEP V
Throughout the guests’ dining experience:

  • All dining surfaces and utensils will be sterilized between uses with the proper sanitizers
  • All surfaces will be scanned with a UV-C germicidal LED surface sterilizing wand.

When all three air purification systems are combined with rigorous cleaning and sanitation, the team expects that guests will have a safe indoor dining experience.
