Hewn Bread announced that owners Ellen King and Julie Matthei have signed a lease for a third location of the bakery in suburban Winnetka. The new outpost will be located at 894 Green Bay Road. Hewn Winnetka is slated to open later this summer.
“We’re so grateful for the support of our wonderful community and the village of Winnetka who helped bring this dream of a third Hewn location to life,” co-owners Julie Matthei and Ellen King said.
Like the Libertyville outpost, the Winnetka location will not feature the full variety at the larger Evanston bakehouse, but a smaller selection of options such as the sticky canelé. Sandwiches on some of the bakery’s naturally fermented, organic bread will be offered, along with cinnamon brioche pastries in the morning.
