The annual celebration of Harry Caray’s life will take place at Harry Caray’s Tavern Navy Pier on May 12 to honor the 24th anniversary of Harry’s passing. This year, they will be donating 100% of all Budweiser and Bud Light sales from all Harry Caray’s locations on Toast Day to the World Central Kitchen to help provide fresh meals to displaced Ukrainians. Harry himself grew up as an orphan and throughout his life raised money to support children in need. Fans can also visit harrycarays.com to donate to World Central Kitchen in honor of Harry.

A collection of extra-large people and objects will be on hand at the Toast to help commemorate Harry, including:

  • Former Chicago Bulls Play-by-Play announcer Tom Dore. Tom is 7’2” tall which makes him the tallest Play-by-Play announcer in the world.

  • A 6-foot version of signature Harry’s Glasses and an 8-foot baseball bat, both created by White Sox legend Ron Kittle

  • A 7-foot three-dimensional Will Perdue photo op. Fans can climb up ladder and place their heads on top of life size figure wearing Will Perdue’s uniform.

  • Hollywood special effects artist Kevin Kirkpatrick’s supersized, hyper-realistic Harry Caray sculpture.

Chicago Cubs legends Ryne Sandberg and Ryan Dempster will lead the Toast at 5:30p with a rousing rendition of Harry’s favorite song, “Take Me out to the Ball Game.” Ryne and Ryan will be joined by Dutchie Caray, Tom Dore, Ron Kittle, George Wendt and others.

The Score’s Parkins & Spiegel Show will broadcast live from the Toast from 2p– 6p. Fans gathered for the Toast will be given larger-than-life Harry glasses at Toast time. Fans who aren’t able to join the ceremony at Harry’s can use the app (link on harrycarays.com) to virtually don Harry glasses and listen live on 670AM in the Chicagoland area or tune in online to join in and raise a glass to Harry from anywhere in the world.
