Guzman y Gomez announces the opening of its third US location in Chicagoland’s northwestern Crystal Lake suburb, located at 5459 Northwest Highway, following their opening in Schaumburg. GYG Crystal Lake will officially open on Thursday, May 18th from 10am- 9pm for dine-in, takeaway, and drive-thru orders with burritos and bowls - followed by a full menu offer including breakfast the following day.
Guzman y Gomez Founder and CEO Steven Marks always knew he wanted to bring the brand ‘home’ to the US. The native New Yorker, who in 2006 founded Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Australia, now has nearly 180 restaurants in Australia, Singapore, and Japan.
Steven Marks, Guzman y Gomez Founder and CEO said that Chicago was the choice for GYG’s US expansion because of the access to some of the best and freshest produce in the country.
“Chicago is one of the culinary capitals in the USA and for good reason - it is surrounded by the best quality ingredients. At GYG, we are all about the food and ensure that we are working with the best partners to give our guests a memorable experience every single time. We will never compromise on the quality of our food. GYG is on a mission to reinvent fast food because we genuinely believe that fast food doesn’t have to mean bad food. We also want to provide the highest quality menu items and ingredients at a great value with the speed and convenience of traditional fast food.”
