Green City Market, the nonprofit organization behind a sustainable farmers’ market, is hosting the second installment of their Sustainable Supper Series on May 30 in Lincoln Park.

Last month, Green City Market kicked off the series at The Paramount Group’s Avondale-based restaurant, Eden. The next event in the series will take place at Range, a community-driven, farm-forward restaurant in Lincoln Park.

This evening will feature a three-course meal sourced from Green City Market’s local, sustainable vendors prepared by Chef Luis Pindter, who opened Range in 2013 in collaboration with designer Paul Schulman.

“Range has always been about sourcing locally and doing it with the purpose of creating community in our neighborhood,” shared Pindter. “We are excited to partner with Green City Market in their Sustainable Supper Series to help achieve our mutual goals of fostering a connection from the farm to our table!”

In addition to the three-course local meal and specialty cocktail, guests will be presented a live panel discussion on food access. Green City Market believes that access to local food is a right, not a privilege, and Range believes that eating “local can be an affordable and approachable way of life.”

This panel discussion will look at food access and recovery in the Midwest and its impact on our farmers’, community, and neighbors in need.

Tickets can be purchased online and include a three-course meal, a specialty cocktail, a live panel discussion, and tip for service staff. A cash bar will also be available at the event.

The Sustainable Supper Series was created to educate our community and instill a lifelong commitment to sustainability. Proceeds from this event series will support Green City Market's 501c3 nonprofit mission to support local, sustainable farmers, educate our community about where food comes from and why this knowledge matters, and expand food access in Chicago.
