High Noon
Saloon hosts Great Lakes Brewing Company for a tap takeover on
Thursday, August 27. The bar offers two beers that are rarely seen
outside of the Cleveland, Ohio brewpub: Aloha Ale, an American blonde
ale, and Alberta Clipper, a porter with notes of bittersweet chocolate
and fresh raspberries. Additionally, High Noon
will be one of the first bars in Chicago to tap the 2015 Oktoberfest,
an annual favorite signaling the autumn season. Lake Erie Monster
Imperial IPA and Sharpshooter Session Wheat IPA, which are both seasonal
brews, and Eliot Ness Amber Lager, a year-round favorite, will also be
tapped (beers range from $6-$8 each).
Emmett
Conway, a level one Cicerone and a member of the family that owns the
brewery, will be on-hand during the tap takeover for beer education. The
event includes gear giveaways and the bar raffles off a Great Lakes
gift basket with an array of items from the brewery store including
wearables, custom signage, glassware, keychains; and more. There is no
cover charge to attend; the event
begins at 7 p.m. Reservations recommended via 773-227-9339.
