Free Soup at Hakka Bakka
In recognition of National Soup Month this January, Hakka Bakka (1251 W. Fullerton Avenue, www.hakkabakkarolls.com) in Lincoln Park is offering a free lentil soup with any purchase on Mondays (one per customer, dine-in only). The lentil soup is made in house daily from fresh and healthy ingredients. Hakka Bakka does not use oil or added fat in this dish, and it has fresh mung beans inside that have been boiled down for around two hours. This is a great hearty and healthy alternative for people who don't prefer heavy cream based bisques. Stop in to get your free soup on January 16, 23, and 30!
Rotating Soups at Tuscany on Taylor
Tuscany on Taylor(1014 W. Taylor Street, www.tuscanychicago.com/tuscany...) is celebrating National Soup Month by adding a variety of rotating seasonal soups to their menu. These dishes are now available Monday through Friday until January 31. The signature soups were created by Executive Chef Victorio Padilla and are as follows
Monday: Lentil vegetable soup ($6)
Tuesday: Beef and farro soup ($6)
Wednesday: Cream of potato leek soup ($6)
Thursday: Escarole, bean and Italian sausage soup ($6)
Friday: Lobster corn bisque ($7)

Celebrate National Soup Month in Wicker Park at MAK Restaurant(1924 W. Division, www.makrestaurant.com). Available now through January 31, get the MAK Stir-Fried Noodle Soup ($9). This dish includes a savory broth filled with stir-fried noodles, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, onions, and zucchini. You can choose between it being served hot, medium, or non-spicy. There is also an option to add chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu for an additional $2.
