Goose Island Brewery will host a one-night event called “Family Meal” on October 6, featuring a collaboration between brewer Mike Jacobs and his brother and Top Chef Finalist, Chef Dan Jacobs. The event will take place at Goose’s newly opened Salt Shed Pub (1221 West Blackhawk St.) in Chicago, starting at 4pm.

The menu for the evening will offer a selection of dishes from Dandan, Chef Dan's restaurant in Milwaukee, which focuses on Chinese and Szechuan cuisine with regional influences. Menu options include:

  • Dandan Noodles with ground pork, mustard greens, peanuts, and chili
  • Smashed Cucumbers with scallions, black vinegar, chilis, and herbs
  • Cumin Lamb Burger served in a bao bun with Sichuan ranch, scallion, celery, cilantro, and pickles. This dish is a collaboration between Goose Island Chef Henry Pariser and Chef Dan Jacobs
  • Sichuan Pork Dumplings with chili oil, black vinegar, scallion, and cilantro
  • General Tso's Cauliflower with rice, chili oil, and bok choy

In addition to the food, the brothers have collaborated on a special beer for the event, titled ‘Send Noods.’ This saison is brewed with Szechuan peppercorn and Makrut lime leaves.

Reservations are not available for this one-night only event, as walk-ins will be served while the food lasts.

Chef Dan Jacobs is recognized as a five-time James Beard Best Chef Midwest Semifinalist and a 2024 James Beard Best Chef Midwest Nominee. He gained additional visibility as a finalist on the most recent season of Bravo's 'Top Chef.'
