Furious Spoon’s second location in will bring ramen, hip-hop and an expanded beverage program to Logan Square this June. The beverage program is a collaboration between Furious Spoon’s Bar Manager Les Reed, General Manager Paulina Echavarri and Broken Shaker alum, Freddie Sarkis.
The menu will feature 8 - 10 fun and affordable cocktails, including frozen and carbonated creations. The bar will feature a rotating selection of draft beers with a number of tap lines dedicated to Japanese beers.
The team says the inspiration behind the cocktails is quality and simplicity. “We all love the lively and thoughtful atmosphere found at a lot of the best bars in the world”, Les Reed explains, “They're able to produce quality cocktails at high volumes by keeping things simple, so we tried to ape that sentiment”.
Many of the cocktails will feature bright, acidic notes that pair well with the rich nature of ramen broth. “We took inspiration from Chef Shin and tried to create cocktails that would pair well with the unique flavors he uses in his ramen and rice bowls,” states Reed.
Freddie Sarkis, who assisted with the creative development and execution of the cocktails, wanted to ensure they fit seamlessly into the concept. “I hope people are able to enjoy what we offer with the same regularity as they do the ramen!”
The Logan Square location is set to open June 2016 at 2410 N. Milwaukee Ave. The 1,700 sq. ft. space will feature a full bar and over 50 seats. A seasonal patio will provide around 70 additional seats.
