Foxtrot, the corner store, café and delivery market will open its ninth Chicago location on June 30 in Wicker Park at 1576 N. Milwaukee Ave. The latest store debuts expanded offerings new to Foxtrot including its first ever cheese and charcuterie bar, over 200 selections of wine, house made craft sandwiches, a full espresso bar and more features. The new food and beverage offerings paired with fresh design will provide an all-day café atmosphere.

“We’re thrilled to continue expansion in Chicago with the opening of our newest location at the bustling six corners in Wicker Park,” said Foxtrot CEO and Co-founder Mike LaVitola. “Our goal from the beginning has been to serve as a community hub for locals and we’ve continued to advance that mission while adapting to the ever-changing needs and wants of our customers. In addition to offering the same everyday necessities, grab-and-go items and gifts our consumers know and love, we’re excited to unveil the newest iteration of our market and café with expanded food, coffee and wine selections inviting guests to sit, relax and enjoy morning or night.”

The new features begin outside with a walk-up window on Damen offering a full espresso bar as well as smoothies, breakfast tacos and ice cream treats to-go. Once inside, guests will find a café environment that includes:

● A cheese and charcuterie bar including a variety of meats from local deli, Tempesta Market, as well as artisanal sources from France, Italy and Spain; domestic cheeses from Prairie Farms, Jasper Hill, Capriole and Rogue Creamery; and imported cheeses such as a Fontina Val D’Aosta, Sardinian pecorino and artisan varieties from France’s Périgord and Champagne regions.

● A rotating selection of seasonal, signature craft sandwiches made in-house daily and served on fresh baguettes. Sandwiches range from “The Mike”, a Chicago-style Italian sub with a variety of meats and cheese from Foxtrot’s deli, giardiniera, sport peppers, tomatoes and celery salt; “The Carla”, a country ham Jambon-Beurre a la Paris with Tempesta Berkshire ham, beurre bordier and cornichon; and “The Justin”, vegetarian Fromage and Fig topped with arugula, banyuls vinegar and yuzu preserves.

● Over 200 bottles of wine and an expanded wine by the glass section including recently released Kid Sister and Sun Lips rosé wines exclusive to Foxtrot, trend and artisan wines hand-picked by Foxtrot’s in-house sommelier and a rotating selection of wines available by the glass for $5 during happy hour (M-F, 4-7pm) and ranging from $7-$10 at other times.

● Exclusive Somm. Select two-wine bundles packaged in custom boxes with QR codes that lead to videos offering tasting notes, food pairings and more from Foxtrot’s sommelier. Starting with one white, one red and one rosé, bundles will rotate every few months and cost $40.

● An in-house wine specialist on staff at all times and a knowledgeable garde manger at the cheese and charcuterie bar to create custom assembled cheese and meat boards.

The Milwaukee and Damen store also has a new look, combining Foxtrot’s signature clean-line design with Parisian-inspired touches including tin ceilings, uncovered historic brick, oak counters and a Damen-side entryway with custom global lighting - a nod to the covered passageways of the Paris Arcades. Two lean bars and café seating accommodate nearly 40 guests who want to grab a bite, catch up with friends or chill out after work.

Foxtrot has engaged two Chicago artists to further distinguish the space. Visual artist Mia Lee, known for her expressive and playful style, is painting an in-store mural as well as a second graphic focal point outside under the “L”. Joe Kraft, a local printmaker and ceramic educator, is creating two framed monotype prints that will greet customers at the Milwaukee entrance.

In celebration of opening, Foxtrot will offer a variety of specials including:

● Wednesday, June 30 – Cold brew & donuts giveaway until noon plus a tote bag giveaway with a purchase.

● Friday, July 2 – Free delivery for all Chicago stores with all delivery fees donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

● Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 – Fourth of July-themed affogatos featuring Foxtrot’s own ice cream topped with a double shot of house espresso and a dusting of red and blue pop rocks.
