Tallboy Taco has one word for Fat Tuesday: tacos. Enjoy $2 tacos (Cowboy 12 Hour Smoked Brisket; Beer-Battered Crispy Fish; Chicken Tinga; Gunthorp Farms Carnitas; Crispy Avocado; Pancho Villa Steak Carne Asada; Pork al Pastor; Grilled Salmon) by Chef Tim Hockett from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, Hurricane cocktails will be featured for $7.
On Fat Tuesday, Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Clubs' Diva Traci Ross will wow the crowd with intermittent performances, while guests enjoy a 33% discount off small plates (shrimp tacos; chicken satay; crab cakes; calamari; bacon wrapped dates; Japanese meatballs; bacon mac and cheese; sriracha glazed tempura shrimp. Partygoers may choose to get crazy with $7 martinis and $9 Cruzan rum cocktails: The Hurricane; Pina Colada; Strawberry Daiquiri; The Zombie; Mai Tai; The Hawaiian Screwdriver; and The Acapulco. Kit Kat will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Timothy O'Toole's Pub will feature Hurricane cocktails for $6, as well as a bevy of food specials. Chef Corey Grupe will offer: Basket of Okra with Cajun Ranch $5; Cajun-style Gumbo with cornbread $8.50; Kicked Up Jambalaya with Cornbread $11; Shrimp Po Boy with lettuce, tomato, onion and remoulade with choice of side $10; and Bourbon Street Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream and whiskey caramel sauce $6. The Bulls-Nuggets game will be shown at 7 p.m. on over 70 screens. O'Toole's will celebrate Fat Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Can't make it to Mardi Gras this year? Jerry's is bringing Bourbon Street cuisine to you with a special menu featuring NOLA-inspired dishes and cocktails. On Fat Tuesday, the Lincoln Square and Andersonville sandwich shops will feature celebratory cocktails (Hurricane; Sazerac), starters (Fried Pickles; Corn Dogs), a bevy of creative po boys (Fried Chicken; Bahn Mi; Root Beer Ham; Nola Hot Beef; Chaurice Sausage; Fried Oyster; Creole Meatloaf), muffuletta sandwich and more.
