Chef/owner Mitchell Jamra (Evette’s and All Too Well) will bring his style and flavors to Lakeview when he opens Evette’s All Day at 2807 N Sheffield Ave. on Friday, March 31. Evette’s, with locations in Lincoln Park and Fulton Market, melds the Mediterranean flavors of Lebanon with Mexico’s culinary traditions with Jamra’s Midwestern roots. While still serving their signature Lebanese tacos and daily fry program, Evette’s All Day will have an menu inspired by Jamra’s time in the southwest.
“When I was younger, my father lived in Tucson so I spent my formative years experiencing Southwestern food throughout Arizona and New Mexico. With Evette’s All Day, I want to dive deeper into mixing those flavors and preparations with Lebanese and midwestern food cultures,” said Jamra. “I’m exploring handhelds with various fillings and bread vessels. Expect Indigenous American Fry Bread with a Mediterranean twist, pocket pitas like Tortas and Arayes, and flatbreads like Malawach and Man'oushe,” explained Jamra. Open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Evette’s third location will offer breakfast daily until 2 p.m., feature expanded daily fry and taco programs, flatbreads, a larger dining room and more.
Jamra will continue to serve Evette’s options like Halloumi Tacos with four pita-like tortillas filled with halloumi cheese, housemade tabbouleh, onion, radish, cucumber yogurt and whipped feta hummus, and the Za’atar spiced Super Garlic Feta Fries topped with Evette's pink sauce; a roasted garlic mayo with beet juice to add earthiness and that pink color.
New items will include variations of handhelds like the Malawach Flakey Wrap, a Yemen flakey flatbread (similar to paratha) filled with amba mayo, cucumber yogurt, lettuce, chili crunch, fried and pickled onion, feta, and choice of protein along with the Fry Pita Bread, an Arizona-style fry bread with a pita twist, harrisa feta, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, smokey hrouss mayo and date chimichurri with choice of protein.
Breakfast will be served everyday until 2 p.m. and include items like tacos, a variety of hash dishes and chilaquiles with a pita or tortilla option. Two variations of Egg Scramble will be available–a Fry Bread Pita preparation with mozzarella, hrouss mayo, date chimichurri, and fried onion with halloumi, sausage, bacon or chorizo or in a Flakey Wrap with mozzarella, amba mayo, chili crunch, fried onions and fresno peppers with bacon or sausage. Evette’s All Day will expand their menu offerings even further post-opening.
