In recognition of Earth Day on Friday, April 22, MAK: Modern Asian Kitchen in Wicker Park will donate a portion of the proceeds from every Chicken Wangs ($5.50 small / $9.75 large) or Falafel with wing sauce ($5 small / $9 large) sold to the Rebuilding Exchange. MAK uses several ingredients that are locally sourced and organic, and meats that are naturally raised, and hormone and steroid free.
The mission of the Rebuilding Exchange is to create a market for reclaimed building materials. They do this by diverting materials from landfills and making them accessible for reuse through their retail warehouse, by promoting sustainable deconstruction practices, by providing education and job training programs, and by creating innovative models for sustainable reuse.
