Dining Out on National Shrimp Day

Local restaurants will recognize National Shrimp Day with shrimp-centric specials. From tacos and empanadas to po'boys and boils, dive in to these three spots when dining out on Tuesday, May 10.

Tallboy Taco will offer a special shrimp taco from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Chef Tim Hockett's Crispy Fried Shrimp Taco is topped with jalapeno slaw ($4). Guests may choose to make it a meal: two shrimp tacos paired with a Tecate tallboy ($8).

Lakeview-located Dive Bar will feature an All-You-Care-To-Eat Shrimp Boil for $16.99, with the purchase of two drinks. In addition, the nautical neighborhood eatery offers a bevy of shrimp dishes, including a Boom Boom Shrimp appetizer (crispy, breaded and tossed in a creamy spicy sauce, $10.99) and Blackened Shrimp Po'Boy (blackened shrimp, lettuce, tomato, remoulade,$9.99).

Cantina Laredo in River North will offer half-priced shrimp dishes in the upstairs lounge from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Choose from Jalapeno Relleno de Camaron (jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and monterey jack, wrapped in bacon, $10), Empanadas de Choizo y Camarones (empanadas with chorizo, shrimp, monterey jack, queso fresco, chile de arbol sauce, $9), and Flatbread de Camarones Chipotle (sauteed shrimp with goat cheese, pineapple, roasted peppers, chipotle sauce, $11).
