Koi Fine Asian Cuisine and Lounge, located in downtown Evanston, will launch weekend brunch service starting on November 6. Every Saturday and Sunday, dining guests may order "Dim Sum Brunch" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This style of service is modeled after yum cha, the Chinese tradition of social gatherings with family and friends at a tea house.
Koi's dim sum dishes feature traditional recipes derived from eight different regions of Southern China. The menu offers 35 small plates, including BBQ pork buns, red bean sesame balls, shrimp rice rolls, beef short ribs, congee with fish and veggies, scallion pancakes, Shanghai rice cake, pork belly and Peking duck bao buns, Koi fried rice, spicy jelly fish, Chow Fun rice noodles with beef, Chinese crullers, egg tart, and more. Bottomless mimosas or bloody marys may be added for $12 per person. Koi's organic tea selections range from Pu-Erh and Genmaicha to Harvest Cran Apple and Serene Dream.
