Coconutz on Division St, is hosting an end-of-summer Luau from Friday September 23 through Sunday September 25. The festivities include Hula-hoop and limbo contests, as well as a friendly competition for the best Caribbean-inspired dress. Winners take home bragging rights and a $50 Coconutz gift card, along with other prizes, including a Weber Grill, Miller Lite and Corona swag and gift certificates for lucky social media fans who use #CoconutzChicago. A DJ will be spinning inspired dance music and drink specials, include $5 Malibu daiquiris on Friday, $6 Patron frozen margaritas on Saturday and $1 Hawaiian hot dogs with Pineapple relish on Sunday. All guests will be welcomed with free leis and are invited to join fellow partiers in a round (or two) of surfboard pong and tropical Jenga.
Look to Coconutz as your fall and winter tropical oasis this year – the place will be heating up when the city cools down, as they’ll be hosting “Jump Up” parties on the first Friday of every month in honor of the legendary Friday night festivities on the island of St. Lucia, where the street party goes on until the early hours and shaking your stuff is firmly encouraged.
