COCHON555, an annual culinary event with stops in cities across the country will return to Chicago the week of October 20th as CARRYOUT WITH COCHON555. This virtual and interactive feast will feature four of Chicago’s chefs who will bring the event into participants’ homes. Chefs Brian Jupiter (Frontier and Ina Marie Tavern), Cedric Harden (River Roast), Daniel Espinoza (Santa Masa Tamaleria), and Jimmy Bannos, Jr. (Purple Pig) will lead “virtual dinners” on Zoom, offering participants the opportunity to partake in a dining experience complete with all the ingredients necessary to create a pork-centric meal plus wine and cocktails.

“Regretfully, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt our lives and communities, we recognized we could not produce our original event tour as we had hoped. As a result, we’ve designed a carryout program with an online component as a creative alternative for our fan base while supporting local restauranteurs, and raising awareness for Heritage breed pigs,” Brett Friedman, Partner & CEO of Agency 21 Consulting, which owns/operates Cochon555. “People are hungry to connect, so transitioning into something virtual was a natural direction for the brand in today’s current climate. By inviting food lovers to enjoy a meal prepared by Chicago’s top culinary minds and  engage in intimate cooking demonstrations, we are able to generate excitement while supporting our local food and beverage community.” With that mission in mind, Cochon555 has committed to donating 80% of all ticket proceeds back to the participating restaurants.

Guests can purchase tickets priced at $100 for one and $185 for two, which will include a multi-course meal, prepared by the featured chef with almost all of the ingredients sourced from local heritage breed pig farms; a bottle of wine (red or white) from Patz + Hall, two White Claw seltzers and a cocktail kit or pre-mixed cocktail comprised of either Buffalo Trace or Wheatly Vodka, and pre-batched cocktails from Mount Gay Rum and Johnnie Walker. During a 45-minute live Zoom, the Chefs will demonstrate how to make the featured dishes while the guests cook along; the other dishes will be pre-prepared and ready to heat and/or serve. Guests can choose to pick up their kit at the chef’s designated restaurant or have it delivered for an additional $30 fee.
