Inspired by the journeys we share with friends, chef friends Art Smith (Art Smith’s Reunion) and Lorena Garcia (Chica) will reunite for a special addition to the 2023 Chicago Gourmet lineup titled, “Rise & Shine Gourmet.”
From September 21-24, 2023, Chicago Gourmet, together with founding sponsor Illinois Restaurant Association and presenting sponsor Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, will celebrate all things food + travel this year dubbing the theme for the 2023 weekend culinary festival to be “All Roads Lead to Gourmet.”
A new Sunday morning stop on the Chicago Gourmet itinerary, Rise & Shine Gourmet will feature a multi-course family-style brunch featuring Southern classics with Latin flair along with cocktails, music, and chef interactions at Chef Art Smith's Reunion (Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Avenue, Chicago).
During the brunch, Chef Art Smith and Venezuelan-born Chef Lorena Garcia will highlight stories of their friendship, deftly weaving inspiration for each of the brunch’s dishes between the courses. Along the way, the duo will share personal anecdotes of their travels abroad.
Rise & Shine Gourmet will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 11 AM - 1:30 PM.
