Chicago Eats for the Cubs Home Opener

Technically the Major League Baseball season has begun, but the Cubs have yet to break in their home field since winning the World Series. The Chicago Cubs are kicking off the 2017-2018 season at Wrigley Field on Monday, April 10 at 7 p.m. And in true Chicago fashion, restaurants near and far are celebrating with food and drink specials. If you want breakfast, beer or bar eats, we've got them all listed below. 

KANELA BREAKFAST CLUB

If you find yourself in Lakeview before the game on Monday, April 10, stop by Kanela Breakfast Club to get your own Cubby French Toast. However, if you find yourself in Andersonville, Old Town, Streeterville or Wicker Park, you can still get this Cub's Home Opener special at Kanela's other locations for $11.49.

• Cubby French Toast: French toast stuffed with sweet cream cheese, blueberry jam and raspberry jam, then garnished with a powdered sugar 'W'

ESTELLE'S

Watch the Cubbies open up Wrigley Field for the new season at Estelle's in Bucktown. Estelle's is offering half-price burgers, a rotating draft beer special, $4 Fernet Branca shots, and of course, their popular half-off everything happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the perfect way to kick off home opener.

COMMONWEALTH TAVERN

Catch all the madness from a distance with Commonwealth Tavern located in Roscoe Village, which is just a little more than a mile away from the Friendly Confines. Commonwealth will be broadcasting the game on their eight large TV's and have local food and drink specials that are hard to beat.

TAVERN ON LITTLE FORT

Kick back in North Center with Tavern on Little Fort and sport your favorite World Series Champion's gear. They are celebrating the Cubs Home Opener at Wrigley Field with $5 food and drinks. Game starts at 7 p.m. but Little Fort will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday, April 10.

• Bud Light tallboys; $5
• Toasted ravioli; $5
• Soft pretzels; $5

MAK: MODERN ASIAN KITCHEN

Don't feel bad if you're not in Wrigleyville for the Cubs Home Opener because MAK in Wicker Park is going to be giving away FREE Sweet Mandy B's Cubs cupcakes. Happening only on Monday, April 10, stop by for some complimentary desert with the purchase of any MAK wrap or bowl. MAK is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
