The city’s chef community is uniting in support of nutritional education by hosting a multi-course fundraising dinner benefiting Common Threads, a non-profit working to build healthy, self-sustaining communities. On Thursday, November 21st, Pendry Chicago and French brasserie, Venteux, will present Chicago Chefsgiving in partnership with Chicago Chefs Cook, the organization whose mission is to unify the Chicago culinary community around humanitarian causes that are on the hearts and minds of Chefs in the city. The one-night-only dinner at Venteux, located on the ground floor of the Carbide & Carbon building on Michigan Avenue, will feature a lineup of chefs including Art Smith (Reunion), Sarah Stegner (Prairie Grass Cafe), Javauneeka Jacobs (Frontera Grill), Tigist Reda (Demera), Arshiya Farheen (Verzeney), D’Andre Carter (Soul & Smoke), Rickie Perez (Logan Oyster Socials), and Carla Henriques (Hawksmoor), with host chefs Marcel Heiduk (Venteux) and Mark Shoemaker (Pendry Chicago), who will work together to create a multi-course, family-style meal. Sommelier Belinda Chang will be the emcee for the evening.

Chicago Chefs Cook, led by Chef Sarah Stegner, Eda Davidman, Melissa Clark, and Darren Gest, has raised over one million dollars for causes such as food insecurity among the unhoused in Chicagoland, earthquake relief in Syria and Turkey, the wildfires in Maui, and most recently, Hurricane Helene relief in Florida. In partnership with presenters Pendry Chicago and Venteux, Chicago Chefs Cook now turns its attention to improving community health through the power of food and nutrition, a mission championed by event charity beneficiary Common Threads. Common Threads provides culinary and nutrition education programs throughout the U.S., working closely with families, schools and community-based partners to promote the benefits of cooking and meal sharing on our physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being.

Tickets for the dinner are $150 + tax, inclusive of gratuity and wine pairings for each course, and can be purchased through Eventbrite. $50 of each ticket sold goes directly to Common Threads. A panel discussion and reception will be held prior to the dinner, featuring Chicago culinary and civic leaders coming together to discuss the mission of Common Threads and the ways in which attendees can advance that work in their own communities; tickets are available through Eventbrite as well.
