Prix Fixe Asian Sushi Evanston

Koi Fine Asian Cuisine, located in the heart of downtown Evanston, will hold a sushi chef's table tasting event on Tuesday, February 6. Starting at 6:30 p.m., participating guests will enjoy six courses at the sushi bar paired with sake selections.  The fee to participate is $45 per person. Course One
Spicy Avocado Salad with Crabmeat
Mixed greens, tempura flakes, dry shallots, unagi and spicy mayo
Pairing: Gekkeikan Nigori Sake

Course Two
Hamachi Tatar
Hamachi, jalapeno, cilantro, and tobiko in a sour plum sauce
Pairing: Murai Tokubetsu Honjozo

Course Three
Naruto Roll
Tuna, Salmon, Super White Tuna, tobiko and avocado wrapped in cucumber with a ponzu sauce
Pairing: Gekkeikan Cap Ace

Course Four
Salmon Tartar
Fresh cucumbers wrapped in salmon, topped with pine nuts and plum sauce
Pairing: Moonstone Asian Pear

Course Five
Beef Short Ribs with Chef’s own recipe
Pairing: Cherry Bouquet Junmai Daiginjo

Course Six
Caramel Custard Flan
Pairing: Gekkeikan Plum Wine
