At a glance: Celebrate the Real Mexican Independence Day at Takito Restaurants
Takito Kitchen, Bar Takito and Takito Street is kicking off its Wednesday-through-Sunday celebration of the Mexican Independence Day on Wednesday September 16th. Often confused with Cinco de Mayo by people living in the United States, Mexico’s Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th – the date in 1810 that marked the moment when one of the country’s priests voiced a rallying cry for independence from Spain.
To celebrate, Takito restaurants are partying like it’s 1810. Starting on Wednesday, September 16th and continuing through Sunday September 20, guests will be offered Latin food and drink – including a special $19.00 Bandera Margarita Flight representing the colors of the Mexican Flag (cucumber/green, coconut/white and strawberry/red) brought to the table with a flaming sparkler and Banderas de México (Mexican flags). Guests are encouraged to shout “VIVA MEXICO!” – the chant that symbolized Mexico’s intent to rise up and take charge of their destiny.
