C’est la Fête Nationale! Cue the le feu d’artifice (fireworks) because the countdown to Bastille Day – the French equivalent of America’s Fourth of July – is well underway and the folks at Toni Patisserie & Cafe are celebrating all week long. This Friday July 14th, marks 228 years since the storming of the Bastille that ignited the French Revolution and end of a corrupted French monarchy. Vive la France!
To commemorate this symbolic day, just trade out your red, white, and blue for blue, white, and red and head to the Toni Patisserie Chicago location. Grab some friends and celebrate like the Parisians do with fresh entrées, sweet macarons, and plenty of bubbly.
As a Bastille Day treat, Toni Patisserie & Café has prepared their take on the pastry "Religieuse" (Nun). They are called Marin, French name for Marine, and are filled with a chocolate praline creme and a chocolate hazelnut crunch. They are currently available for $6.95.
They will also be promoting a special edition of blue, white, and red Macaron Poppers paired with a split of Le Grand Courtâge Grande Cuvée de Blanc de Blancs Brut or Brut Rosé for $17.90. Or pop in for Happy Hour at their Chicago location, to toast to France for half off all liquor every Monday through Friday from 4-7pm. We may not be able to bring the Eiffel Tower to the Windy City, but that doesn’t mean we can’t party like the Parisians. À votre santé!
