On Friday, June 24, Burnt City Brewing will celebrate its 10th anniversary at District Brew Yards — the pour-your-own beer hall in West Town. The brewing company with a history in the namesake “burnt city” will celebrate its milestone with a celebration of beer specials, merch raffles, live DJ entertainment, and food specials.
We look forward to celebrating the adventure that we’ve been on for the past decade,” says Founder Steve Soble. “We want to remind customers that we’ve been around longer than most breweries in Chicago, drink some beer, eat some food, but most importantly: Just have a real good time,” he adds.
District Brew Yards serves as Burnt City Brewing’s newest home after its departure from its original location in Lincoln Park in 2019. Location isn’t the only change Burnt City Brewing has faced in its 10 years of brewing — originally Atlas Brewing, the brand was forced to rename their company due to a legal naming dispute. In 2016, Partners John and Ben Saller and Steve Soble decided to (theoretically) burn everything to the ground and reconceptualize the brand. From the ashes rose a brand with a new name, look, and approach to brewing.
District Brew Yards is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from Noon - 11 p.m.; and Sunday from Noon - 9 p.m. Reservations at District Brew Yards can be made via Tock.
