BreakRoom Brewery will roll out the red carpet this weekend for a season finale viewing party of Discovery channel's show, EPIC BAR BUILDS. Come by this Sunday at 1 p.m. (show airs at 2 p.m.) to mix and mingle with the cast of the show, drink local brews and watch along as BreakRoom Brewery's custom bar is revealed on the final show. In celebration, the restaurant will offer guests a 32oz canned crowler with a 16oz keepsake logo pint glass for $14.
Throughout the six episode series, the show has followed the men and women of Heineman Bar Company (HBC) in Chicago's Near North Side, as they create one-of-a-kind bars all over the country. The television series will conclude with the unveiling of BreakRoom Brewery, one of the proudest accomplishments of HBC, and certainly the most personal. "I'm proud to be able to highlight my love for woodworking and craftsmanship at BreakRoom for all to see and appreciate. It's a dream come true for me," founder, Aaron Heineman said.
BreakRoom will offer seven craft brews on tap this weekend, including: Alba; Gwenith; Irvinium; Makellos; Mo'Psyche; Noble Gray; Zuri; and house made root beer. Chef Dirk Flanigan's full menu (charcuterie; lamb scrumpets; sausage salad; Idaho trout; chicken thighs; Heinemen Bar Company burger; Stout cake) will also be available during the viewing party.
BreakRoom Brewery showcases expert craftsmanship and love for woodworking throughout. Upon entering BreakRoom, you can take in the 40 foot bar made of ribbon stripe sapele wood and a piece of 300 million year old petrified wood inlaid upon the bar for all to see, touch and enjoy. Sunlight from the skylights highlight tables throughout the space, which are handcrafted from various species of wood and uniquely designed. Reclaimed barn wood from a farm over 150 years old frames and covers the outside of the brew house. Used barrels from friends at Journeyman Distillery have been made into light fixtures, which hang from the 30-foot ceiling. Original wooden trusses have been restored and highlight character from the building's past while paying tribute to its urban setting.
