Bold Dog Beer Company releases the following statement regarding the collaboration beer the Chicago brewery created with national brewery Samuel Adams as part of the Samuel Adams “Brewing the American Dream” program underwritten by Accion, a small-business lender. The beer, Sammy Dry-Hopped Lager (5.5% ABV) with Huell Melon, Vic Secret, and Citra, will be released on draft only at District Brew Yards (417 N. Ashland Ave.) and will be officially tapped Friday, July 10 at 5 p.m.

Samuel Adams Founder and Brewer Jim Koch saw an opportunity to help small businesses and breweries access capital and provide coaching that he did not have when he was starting a brewery back in 1988. In 2008, he partnered with Accion, a non-profit small business lender, to create “Brewing the American Dream” to support small businesses in the food and beverage industry across the country.

In 2015, with help from this partnership, we received a small business loan to start our brewery and since have been able to build our American Dream—a family business we are proud to share with you.

Through our achievements and opportunity, we remain aware that the ecosystem of these partnerships is important to fostering small-business owners in an equitable manner. We intend to donate all proceeds from our collaboration beer with Samuel Adams to Accion in support of their mission and goal to help neighborhood entrepreneurs grow, access mentorship, and create jobs and wealth in often underserved communities throughout Illinois and Indiana.

This collaboration beer will be available exclusively at District Brew Yards, and it will be available starting Friday 7/10 at 5:00pm.
