Bodega Taqueria y Tequila has announced the opening of its first Chicago outpost on Randolph Street in the West Loop neighborhood slated to open in Spring 2023 at 912 W Randolph St. Following shortly after will be a second Chicago location set to open in River North at 407 N Clark St. at the end of Summer 2023.
“We are extremely excited that our first Bodega Taqueria y Tequila outside of our home state of Florida will be in Chicago’s high energy and food driven West Loop community,” said Jared Galbut, CEO and Co-Founder. “I’ve always seen Chicago as my second home and a city near and dear to me, so we are overjoyed to finally be bringing this beloved concept to locals here. Our menu will mirror that of all of our locations, though we will add seasonal options inspired by Chicago’s food and craft cocktail scene.”
The menu options will include a Jalapeño Brisket Quesadilla, with smoked brisket, jack cheese, roasted peppers and onions, charred jalapeños, crispy onions, red onion, cilantro, salsa rosada and birria consomé; Late-Night Burrito, Short rib, pork, chicken, Mexican rice, black bean refrito, jack cheese, potato sticks and salsa rosada, Build Your Own Bowls, along with taco options such as Camarón al Coco, Steak Chimichurri, Crispy Fish, Impossible Chorizo, along with Al Pastor, Carne Asada, Barbacoa, and more.
Beyond the taqueria, an alley-inspired hallway with graffiti will bring revelers to a porta potty door that will then lead them into Bodega's speakeasy – a spot for happy hour and late-night bites and entertainment featuring a tequila and cocktail menu, as well as live music by local bands and DJs. Cocktails will include the Pico Picante, with tequila, mezcal, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeno, lime and orange bitters, along with beers on draft, seltzers and wine selections also available.
Margarita Mondays will offfer $5 Frozen Margaritas; a three for $11 Taco Tuesday special available all night, along with an Happy Hour menu available in the lounge. Patrons coming in groups can also order a Fiesta Tower, which includes sweet chili jalapeño wings, Yuca frita, quesadilla with rajas, nachos, queso, salsa ranchera and guacamole, along with large format cocktail dispensers filled with seasonal margaritas.
