On December 4, 2024, the Bitter Pops team visited the Goose Island Barrel House for the inaugural Bourbon County Brand Stout (BCBS) Single Barrel Selection. After extensive tasting, the Bitter Pops team selected a Heaven Hill barrel aged for six years. This particular barrel held BCBS for 42 months, making it the longest-aged Bourbon County Brand Stout ever bottled. Tasting Notes include oak, deeply roasted malt, and a wine-like depth.
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we are beyond honored to be the first retailer to take part in the Single Barrel Experience,” said Co-Founder Nick Gil of Bitter Pops. “Even more exciting is that we now have the opportunity to share this history-making release with our guests—the oldest Bourbon County Brand Stout ever bottled.”
