Dating in Chicago can be pretty brutal; so, being single during a month where “love” is celebrated doesn't typically mean going out to a restaurant where, “romance is in the air." Instead of enduring specialty menus dedicated to couples, a pop-up bar, Cupid’s Bar(355 North Clark Street) will have themed drinks with names opposing love and relationships. Cupid's Bar will be opening at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.
Following the announcement about DineAmic Hospitality’s newest project, Blank’s Bar, Cupid inquired about renting out the space to create his own bar for everyone, cuffed or not. For three weekends, every Friday and Saturday with the last night of operation on Saturday, Feb. 22., this pop-up Valentine’s Day bar will be the spot for someone who is likely not accompanied by their soulmate.
Even though Blank’s Bar will be called, “Cupid’s Bar” and will be adorned with festive, Valentine's Day décor, the cocktail names will change the holiday's meaning with drinks like Swipe Left, made with Bacardi Dragonberry, lemon, raspberries, and Fresca, Champagne for My Real Friends, consisting of sparkling rose and cotton candy, as well as shots named Ghosted.
