Roka Akor Chicago (456 N Clark St) and Balvenie Scotch are hosting a special dinner on Wednesday, April 24th at 7PM with Balvenie specialist Brian Rappeport on-site to coach the tasting. 

The dinner will feature crafted cocktails and pours paired with a meal designed to complement each course. The courses include:

Course 1

Brown Butter Buckwheat Madeleines with Uni Butter

Robata Pork Belly with Pineapple and Coriander

Pairing: Balvenie Highball

Balvenie 12yr, Fever-tree Soda, Orange Peel, Orange Bitters

Course 2: 

Lamb Tartare with Puffed Barley and Black Garlic Kosho

Hokkaido Scallops with Shaved Foie Gras, Ume, and Shiso

Pairing: Dufftown Donkey

Balvenie Caribbean Cask, Balvenie 12yr, House Ginger Beer, Rick Dem

Course 3:

Robata Golden Tilefish with Carrot Miso, Spring Peas, and Tendrils

Sake Steamed Mussels with Preserved Meyer Lemon and Fermented Chili, Fennel

Pairing: Caledonia Spritz

Balvenie 12yr, Charles de Fere Sparkling, Pineapple Juice, Sauternes

Course 4:

Braised Snake River Farms Short Rib, Potato Pave

Roasted Brassicas, Cashew Miso Butter
