The Kennison will host families for their third annual autism-friendly night out on Wednesday, December 15. The Lincoln Park restaurant, located inside Hotel Lincoln, will feature a special prix fixe meal, sensory activities by Blue Bird Day School, designated quiet spaces and more, with the planning help of Autism Speaks.
This year's event coincides with ZooLights' Sensory-Friendly Visit Times at Lincoln Park Zoo (located across the street). The zoo's music, blinking and moving lights will remain static or turned off from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that evening.
The fee for this ticketed event is $40 per adult; children participate and eat for free. Each family attending will receive a copy of the book I Like Dinosaurs, Too! or What About Me? A Book by and for an Autism Sibling. Both books are written by Mandy Farmer and illustrated by The Kennison's beverage director, Emily Neff.
$10 from every ticket will be donated to Autism Speaks. Families that show their ZooLights tickets will receive a 10% discount. Reservations are required and run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please call The Kennison at 312-981-7070 to reserve your table.
