The Violet Hour

Cocktail: All Pine For You

This wintery punch-style sipper evokes all the seasons flavors with juicy notes of dark cherry, a rosemary aroma and hint of allspice. The cocktail uses a split base of vodka and Colombian Aguardiente, an anise and sugarcane-based spirit.

Lardon

Cocktail: Old Sport

The Old Sport swaps out gin for a warm Russel’s Reserve 10 year Bourbon and pairs it with Apple Brandy, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and a mix of bitters -  both the smoked orange and cherry bark variety. The lingering of cinnamon spice from the bourbon in tandem with the fruity sprinklings of orange and cherry.

The Graceful Ordinary

Cocktail: #pumpkinspice

Caffeinated, boozy, and with fall spices, the #pumpkinspice from The Graceful Ordinary is a seasonal option. Vodka and espresso are sweetened with maple syrup, then topped with pumpkin cream cold foam, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

avec River North

Cocktail: Par For The Cores

Dreamt up by Kate Smith, the female-force behind the brand’s beverage program, the pour is home on the menu at the restaurant’s River North location and combines Laird's Straight Apple Brandy with Cocchi Americano along with flavors of the season like Honeycrisp Shrub and Pomegranate Grenadine before finished with Wildflower Honey. The end result is a zingy, spicy, and funky sip.

Maple & Ash

Cocktail: Baller, Shot Caller

A table-side smoke show, this cold weather pour combines sweet and spicy. Cutting the warmth of Wild Turkey Rare Breed and smokiness of Balvenie 12 year with a helping of lemon zest, the getup is finished with a hint of white truffle honey before being topped with a layer of smoke.

Venteux

Cocktail: Candied Squash Martini

Venteux is offering a sweet take on a classic winter vegetable with the Candied Squash Martini. The drink combines smokey mezcal with maple syrup, lemon juice and butternut squash puree in a cinnamon sugar rimmed coupe glass . Additionally, for every cocktail sold in November, Venteux will be donating $1 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, an organization working to end hunger by connecting neighbors with healthy food and advancing solutions that address the root causes of hunger.

The Whistler

Cocktail: Shoulder Season

Demerara rum and earthy reposado tequila give this seasonal sipper it’s signature depth, while allspice dram and a hint of nutmeg round out it’s baking spice notes. The combination of Earth and spice evoke the aromatics of the latter year shoulder season when fallen autumnal leaves pepper the ground, with a bright squeeze of lime.

The Meadowlark

Cocktail: Cedar Waxwing

The staff at newly opened craft cocktail bar, The Meadowlark, describe sipping the Cedar Waxwing as being like walking through the Redwood Forest in early winter after a chilly rain. The crisp, earthy cocktail includes St. George Terrior Gin, Green Chartreuse, and the alpine amaro Braulio, made from over 20 different mountain herbs and botanicals. Spun and served over a large hunk of ice with a spritz of bright, grassy stotol and a sprig of mint.
