The third annual mural art festival once again culminates this Saturday, Aug. 21 from noon to 8 p.m. at District Brew Yards (417 N. Ashland Ave.). Organized by locally based art activation agency Muros, the main event takes place in the Altitude parking lot (404 N. Armour), south and west of District Brew Yards and features live painting by 13 artists; live performances by The Future Kings, DJ Boathouse, and School of Rock; and the inaugural Creators Village, which is one part arts & crafts show and one part hands-on art education, with 11 different makers selling their wares and teaching attendees about their craft. Think tutorials on screen printing, aerosol painting, wall hangings, cookie decorating, and much more. And of course with the location at the Brew Yards, guests can check in at the main entrance on Ashland for a beer card to the pour-your-own facility and to grab food from Lillie's Q inside District Brew Yards.

You may remember two years ago when the Brew Yards hosted Muros's inaugural festival with a day-long mural flash-installation project with five artists painting the beer hall's south-facing wall. The Brew Yards is having that large exterior wall repainted by new local and national muralists. Speaking to the temporary and changing nature of street art and outdoor installations, District Brew Yards ushers in a new look outside for the nearly 100-seat patio.

This year, Titan Walls has also partnered with District Brew Yards to brew the light and tropical easy-drinking Titan Walls Pale Ale (5% ABV), with a portion of proceeds benefiting SocialWorks, Chance the Rapper's youth empowerment charity. Titan Walls Pale Ale will be on tap in the beer hall for 60 cents/ounce and sold in 4-pack/16-oz. cans ($10.99) exclusively at the Brew Yards retail shop.

The event is free to attend, and it's recommended to register for a complimentary ticket at EventBrite so organizers have an idea on the number of attendees.
