Ravenswood on Tap, the neighborhood’s annual craft beer festival, returns this summer on a new weekend. Traditionally held in June, the sixth annual “On Tap” will be July 22-23, 2023. Featuring beer and spirits from local breweries and distilleries, the two-day festival spotlights Malt Row – a craft brewing community in Ravenswood.
“Ravenswood on Tap is a community favorite, and we’re excited to host it during the height of summer this year,” says Gene Wagendorf III, associate director of the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (GRCC). “It’s exciting to see so many great Ravenswood breweries come out to support and collaborate with each other, and we also get to showcase some incredible local restaurants, artists, and musicians.”
Ravenswood on Tap is about local businesses with food from Chicago restaurants and food trucks, a line-up of live music and entertainment, as well as handmade goods from local retailers and artists. Located along Ravenswood Avenue between Berteau & Belle Plaine, otherwise known as “Malt Row,” the festival includes a suggested donation of $10 to benefit small business support and community programming from the GRCC (501c6) and public art and placemaking projects from the Ravenswood Community Council (501c3).
Participating breweries and distilleries this year will include Begyle Brewing, Cultivate by Forbidden Root, Dovetail Brewery, Half Acre Beer Company, KOVAL Distillery, Hop Butcher for the World, LaGrow Organic Beer Co., Odious Cellars, and Spiteful Brewing.
