Avondale

  • Central Park Bar

Central Park Bar on Thursday, July 4 at 4 p.m. on their patio for a half-price happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can select seasonal cocktails like the Frozen Spicy Mango Margarita (regularly $11) or the Summer Luvin’ with Aperol, Gin Lane 1751 Violet Gin, lemon juice and Q Grapefruit (regularly $13).

Weather-permitting, guests can use the full 3,500 square foot Backyard Bar complete with covered outdoor bar, bumper pool table, picnic tables, porch swings and fire pit.

Lakeview

  • Cody's Public House

Cody’s Public House will open at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 for a Cubs pregame party and will broadcast the Cubs vs Phillies game at 1:20 p.m. At 2 p.m., guests will be offered a Surfside sampling and can enter a raffle for a chance to win a Surfside cooler. Fourth of July specials will include $5 Sam Adams drafts, $6 Bomb Pop shots, $7 Stateside Vodka cocktails and $30 Surfside and Stateside buckets. 

Cubs game day specials all weekend include $5 Old Style tall boy cans, $6 Spiteful Brewing Bleacher Bum Blonde and $7 Cubby Bombs. Games will be broadcast on 16 65-inch TVs throughout the space including six outside. Cody’s beer garden offers darts and bean bags.

  • The Graystone Tavern

The bar will offer Cubs gameday specials like $8 Sam Adams Summer Ale 22-ounce steins, $8 Twisted Tea 22-ounce steins, $6 Cubbie Bombs and an $18 Freedom Flight featuring red, white and blue bombs (Three Olives Raspberry Vodka, White Claw Black Cherry Vodka, White Claw Mango Vodka).

For fans who don’t have a ticket to the game, Graystone will broadcast the games on 15 TVs throughout the bar and the year-round outdoor beer garden with a retractable roof that can seat up to 100 people. The patio features string lights overhead, and games like Golden Tee.

  • Wake 'N Bacon

Brunch offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wake ‘n Bacon. Brunch menu options include a Wake 'n Bacon Burger featuring an all beef patty, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions and bacon chili jam on a brioche bun ($17) and the La Vida Dulce Brioche French Toast stuffed with house-made dulce de leche and topped with a dulce whipped cream, shortbread crumble, and a spread of blackberry ginger compote. 

  • Farmbar

Farm Bar Lakeview and Ravenswood are opening their doors on July 4, offering their classic Midwestern fare and craft cocktails best enjoyed al fresco. Taking it one step further, head upstairs to Farm Bar Ravenswood’s rooftop ARRIBA and enjoy Latin-inspired snacks, margaritas and palomas.

Lincoln Park

  • aliveOne

Chicagoans can kick off the long holiday weekend starting Wednesday, July 3 at aliveOne in Lincoln Park with half-price happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by free live music from resident band Bonzo Squad starting at 9:30 p.m. All night drink specials will include $8 craft cocktails and $6 Half Acre brews. 

  • Sweet Mandy B's

Sweet Mandy B’s will offer treats available from Tuesday, July 2 through Thursday, July 4. Guests will be offered themed items like Chocolate Iced Brownies (Lincoln Park only), Confetti Cookies, Sweetie Pie Cookies, Iced Sugar Cookies, Confetti Rice Krispies, Yellow and Chocolate Cake Cupcakes with vanilla frosting, and a 6" three layer Red, White and Blue Watercolor Vanilla Cake that feeds 8-12 guests.

  • The Getaway

The Getaway, will open late on the Fourth of July at 8 p.m. for a holiday nightcap. Specials for will include $8 The Getaway cocktails (normally $13) featuring Ron Zacapa 23 rum, Rhum Clément coconut liqueur, Tiki Lover's pineapple rum, Giffard apricot liqueur, lime juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, and grenadine along with $9 beer and shot combos.

  • The Owl

The Owl in Logan Square which will open late at 10 p.m. The Owl will serve $10 house cocktails until 4 a.m. including Spicy House Margaritas made with Ghost Tequila, the Night Call with Four Roses Bourbon, Pimento Dram, lime, angostura bitters and simple syrup and more.

North Center

  • The Rambler Kitchen + Tap

The Rambler in North Center will offer free trivia at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 hosted by Whaddayaknow. Specials include $12 Blackened Chicken Nachos, $10 Ground Beef Tacos, $6 Dobel Tequila shots, $7 Traditional Margaritas, and $25 Corona family buckets (Corona, Corona Light, Modelo, Pacifico).

Cubs fans who visit The Rambler for the Cubs action over the weekend can watch the games on 20 60-inch TVs throughout the bar with the sound on. Game day specials will include stadium fare like $5 16-ounce Old Style cans, $5 Spiteful Brewing Bleacher Bum Blonde and $5 Pizza Puffs. Guests can also opt to watch the game in The Rambler’s enclosed beer garden complete with a bar and several TVs.

  • LG's Bar & Kitchen

In the spirit of the 4th of July, LG’s Bar & Kitchen located in Old Town will celebrate with cocktail specials, including $4 select Tallboys, $20 Busch Light pitchers, $10 Bomb Pop Slushies, and $3 Jello Shots. These offers will be available each day from July 4th to 7th before 10 pm.

River North

  • Jaleo by José Andrés

Jaleo by José Andrés debuts their "Summer of Sangria," featuring special sangrias available by the glass and pitcher. Seasonal offerings include Sangría Rosada made with Liquid Geography Rosé, gin, vermouth, watermelon macerate, and citrus; Sangría de Sandía with Cava, gin, vermouth, watermelon, and citrus; and Sangría de Durazno with Cava, gin, vermouth, peach macerate, and citrus. Chefs have also prepared three specialty tapas with the sangria: Crab Croqueta, Watermelon Salad, and Pork ‘Secreto’ with Peaches.

  • Hard Rock Cafe

In celebration of the Fourth of July, Hard Rock Cafe Chicago is offering a tribute to independence with its Independence Margarita. This Strawberry Margarita is crafted with Milagros, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and strawberry puree. It’s presented with a red, white, and blue sugar rim, topped with a fresh strawberry and a festive 4th of July garnish. Priced at $14 each. Available from July 1 through July 7.

  • I|O Godfrey

I|O Godfrey's Red, White, and Blue Sangria will be available from July 1 through July 7. Crafted with frozen fruit granita, The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc, Grey Goose White Peach & Rosemary, and Caposaldo Moscato, this drink is priced at $18 per glass or $68 per pitcher. $1 from each sangria sold will benefit K9S for Veterans. 

  • The Hampton Social 

The Hampton Social River North will celebrate the 4th of July by bringing back its Blue Frosé. Crafted with Tito's Handmade Vodka, H Rosé, peach purée, and priced at $17, this limited-time blue twist on the iconic Frosé is available from June 27 through July 4. 

  • Bodega Taqueria y Tequila

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila in River North hosts guests to their Fourth of July weekend with Red Hot Bodega Summer starting Wednesday, July 3. Patrons can join the fun at Camp Bodega from 2 p.m. on both Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, with special bucket and drink offers. The musical entertainment will feature DJ DEX playing from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. on July 4, and DJ MACH from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on July 5.

From July 4th to 7th, a special grilled-to-order menu featuring the All-American Burger and the Maxwell Street Polish Combo. Both combos come with roasted corn on the cob and creamy potato salad for a complete Independence Day feast, priced at $24.

  • Bandit

Bandit is set to celebrate the 4th of July week with an array of festivities planned for each day:

Wednesday, July 3: Bandit on Two (Bandit’s second floor with two bars and several TVs) opens its doors to kick off the holiday celebrations.

Thursday, July 4: Starting at 11:30 a.m., Bandit will serve an all-day menu that includes grilled hot dogs and festive jello shots. The venue will also feature a display of photographs from last year's celebration.

Friday, July 5: The festivities continue with a bottomless brunch, a curated menu of top dishes and bottomless brunch cocktails.

Saturday, July 6: NASCAR Talladega Nights at Bandit on Two: Round 2, entertainment complete with a Chicago-style hot dog, NASCAR beer cooler, and bomb pop jello shots.

  • Bodega Taqueria y Tequila

Bodega Taqueria y Tequila West Loop hosts a Red Hot Bodega Summer. The festivities commence on Wednesday, July 3rd. Camp Bodega opens its doors at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5, offering guests bucket, bottle, and drink specials. The celebration will be amplified with DJ sets, featuring DJ Scheiny from 8 to 10 p.m. and DJ Girasole from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. on July 4th, followed by DJ Josh Gomez from 9 to 11 p.m. and DJ Agent Forte until 2 a.m. on July 5th.

Wicker Park/West Town

  • The Robey

Wicker Park’s boutique hotel The Robey offers their indoor/outdoor 13th-floor lounge, The Up Room. The Robey also hosts a 6th-floor Mediterranean-inspired all-day oasis Cabana Club, with an outdoor pool and frozen drinks and their 4th of July special: a red, white, and blue Bomb Pop.

  • Easy Bar

Easy Bar will open late at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Drink specials will include $6 Fernet Branca shots, $7 Tito's cocktails and $9 beer and shot combos. Guests can choose from drinks on Easy Bar’s dog-friendly sidewalk patio with seating for 15 to 20 guests. 

  • Estelle's

Estelle’s will open late at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Guests will select late-night barbecue specials like $8 Nancy's Chicken Nuggets along with $8 Altos Silver Tequila drinks and more.

  • Remedy

Remedy will open from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 for an Independence Night party with beats from DJ PJ starting at 11 p.m. Patrons can sip on summer cocktails for $13 each like the Owlington with Ron Colon Salvadoreno Red Banana Oleo Rum, Kōloa Kauai Coconut Rum, Allspice dram, lime, and pineapple and the Little Prick with Ketel One vodka, Maraska, lemon, and rose hip tea syrup, topped with soda.

  • Nettare

Nettare is switching things up with a special Independence Day menu. 

The ‘Big Sandwich’ with housemade capicola, arugula, tapenade, dijonaise, and Hook’s 1yr cheddar on house focaccia. It serves 6-8 and is available as a half ($35) or whole ($65).

Oak Leaf lettuce, porchetta vin, candied black walnuts, golden raisins, focaccia croutons, and sarvecchio cheese salad ($16)

Suburbs

  • Taste of Oak Brook

The Village of Oak Brook's annual Taste of Oak Brook, taking place on July 3rd. This year’s event offers a beer garden, reserved private cabanas, live music, and watch as the village lights-up the night sky with their fireworks display presented. 

The annual celebration, taking place at the Village Sports Core Fields (700 Oak Brook Road), will host several local food vendors, children’s activities and entertainment, main stage music and more. The fireworks show starts at dusk (around 9:30 p.m.), is nearly 25-minutes long.

The Taste of Oak Brook will again offer private cabanas with increased capacity of up to 75 guests, and additional included parking. The private cabanas are for large groups, as the packages include on-site catering from Fogo De Chao, complimentary beverage service, exclusive main-stage and fireworks viewing areas, as well as access to private, air-conditioned restrooms and complimentary parking. 

The event will feature live music from Sixteen Candles as well as Modern Day Romeos. The event is also offering a beer garden tent adjoining the main stage.

  • Hewn Bakery

Hewn (locations in Evanston and Libertyville -- and opening later this year in Winnetka) has some new items including, Blueberry Küchen (a recipe from co-owner Ellen King's aunt who lived in Maine), Berry Hand Pies, Pulled Pork Empanadas, Garlic Parmesan Bread, Burger Buns, and more pastries. 

  • The Hampton Social

The Hampton Social River North will celebrate the 4th of July by bringing back its Blue Frosé. Crafted with Tito's Handmade Vodka, H Rosé, peach purée, and priced at $17, this limited-time blue twist on the iconic Frosé is available from June 27 through July 4. The Blue Frosé is available at Burr Ridge, Skokie, South Barrington and O'Hare.
