Arbella (112 W. Grand Ave.)

·      On Saturday, March 17, Arbella, the globally inspired cocktail lounge in River North is channeling the Irish spirit and opening their doors at 10am to get the party started early. Starting in the morning, celebrators can first nourish themselves for the long day ahead with Corned Beef Hash Breakfast Burritos and Empanadas for some extra sustenance and then move on to Arbella’s various drink specials while partying with guest DJs from open to close. Guests can imbibe all day long with drink specials featuring Arbella’s refreshing & green Patty’s Punch ($10) made with cucumber-infused pisco, beer + a shot of Irish Whiskey ($10), Guinness ($6) and Miller High Life ($5).

The Boundary (1932 W. Division St.), Old Town Pour House (1419 N. Wells St.)

·      Say top o’ the morning on March 17 with a Kegs & Eggs brunch at The Boundary in Wicker Park and Old Town Pour House. From 8-11 a.m., those celebrating the holiday are invited to indulge in a breakfast buffet with all the fixings including scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, chilaquiles, and more, and start drinking early with green beer, bloody marys, and mimosas. ·      From March 13-19, diners can keep the Irish celebrations going with food specials at The Boundary and Old Town Pour House. Specials include Corned Beef Reuben with braised corned beef, champagne sauerkraut, Guinness caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and whole grain whiskey mustard on toasted marble rye bread, Shepherd’s Pie with vegetables and goat cheese potato puree, and Corned Beef Poutine with crispy fries, onion gravy, cheese curds, and herbed breadcrumbs.

Howells & Hood (435 N. Michigan Ave.)

·      Howells& Hood welcomes guests to the Magnificent Mile to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day just steps from the parade and dyeing of the Chicago River. On March 17, the restaurant’s annual Patio Party begins at 8 a.m. and offers a beautiful outdoor space for guests to dance to a live DJ, listen to bagpipers, get silly in the photo booth, and drink beer in true Irish fashion. Breakfast specials include Irish French Toast with raisin soda bread and black berry jelly, Pastrami Hash with crispy hash pancake, sweet peppers, onion, house pastrami, fried eggs, and salsa verde, and the Irish Benny with soda bread biscuit, rashers, grilled tomato, spinach, and Irish cheddar hollandaise.

·      From March 13-19, diners can celebrate all week long with an Irish-themed menu at Howells & Hood. Specials include Chicken Pie with roasted chicken, mushroom medley, pearl onions, peas and creamy whiskey gravy, Bangers & Mash with Irish sausage, mustard mash, and Guinness gravy, and Irish Cheddar Soup with Guinness, Irish cheddar, and crispy rashers.

·      Patrons can also get a head start on the St. Patrick’s Day festivities with a custom engraving on a Guinness pint glass! Available at Howells & Hood on March 8 from 5-7 p.m.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib (100 E. Ontario St.)

·      Get that Irish fix at Lawry’s The Prime Rib, located just steps from the Magnificent Mile. As a great alternative to the Irish beer, guests can imbibe with the tableside Meat & Potato Martini ($15), made with Chopin potato vodka and two colossal olives stuffed with horseradish and prime rib. The Meat & Potato Martini is the first cocktail to be served tableside at the treasured steakhouse known for its prime rib, and is the perfect addition to any classic Lawry’s fare.

Marshall’s Landing (222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza, atop the Grand Stair)

·      Waking up just got a little bit easier, as the Merchandise Mart’s bustling 12,000 square foot restaurant & lounge, Marshall’s Landing, serves up their vanilla coffee with a few drips of Jameson in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. The Vanilla Irish Coffee ($10) contains vanilla-infused Jameson Irish Whiskey, Dark Matter “A Love Supreme” coffee, and housemade Jameson whipped cream. Is there such thing as too much Jameson in the month of March? (Hint: the answer is no)

·      In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Portillo’s is putting a Chi-Rish spin on the Shamrock Shake with the Mint Chocolate Shake ($3.98 for a large and $3.29 for a small), a vanilla-mint shake blended with chocolate fudge frosting from Portillo’s famous Chocolate Cake. The limited-time menu item is available from March 1-31 in-stores and via Portillo’s delivery service.

Travelle Kitchen + Bar (330 N. Wabash Ave.)

·      Taking full advantage of the restaurant’s proximity to the St. Patrick’s Day festivities, Travelle Kitchen + Bar invites guests to watch the Chicago River get dyed green from above. Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, the lounge opens early for guests to reserve bar tables (with a $50 minimum spend per person) to take in the incomparable view. While the river turns shamrock-green, so will LH Rooftop’s special breakfast menu, which includes Corned Beef Benedict ($12) with green onion hollandaise on a green English muffin, as well as options for Green Bloody Mary’s and Green Mimosas.
