On Wednesday, November 14, Conrad’s Grill will open its Chicago flagship restaurant in Wicker Park at 1422 N Milwaukee Avenue. Conrad’s Grill has been a staple amongst Michigan State University students in East Lansing since opening its first restaurant in 2007. Now, Conrad’s Grill has decided to follow their alumni and share their Tot Wraps with Spartans and friends of Spartans across the Midwest.
Home of the Original Tot Wrap, Conrad’s Grill is known for its grilled wraps stuffed with tater tots. Picture it: tots loaded with proteins, cheeses and sauces, wrapped up in a tortilla and slapped on the grill. From tots piled with eggs and bacon to tots topped with chicken, cheese, ranch and sour cream, the tot is the heart of the wrap. The Great American Tot Wraps are available for dine-in or delivery from morning until late, late, late night. Guests can round out their meal with mac & cheese bites, French toast sticks, spicy fried pickles and other sides.
Chicago entrepreneurs Cameron Cummins, Jeff Kaplan, Steve Prebish and Mike Rane found Conrad’s menu impossible to resist. They saw potential in Conrad’s Grill and agreed to a joint venture with the Conrad family, the original owners and operators of the chain in East Lansing. Cummins, Kaplan, Prebish and Rane bring a combined 50+ years of restaurant industry experience.
Since moving their headquarters from Michigan to Chicago, the Conrad’s Grill team plans to open 3-5 locations in the next few years with more Chicago neighborhood spots and several on-campus restaurants already in the works. Conrad’s Grill will expand into neighborhoods, like Pilsen, Logan Square, Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park and Rogers Park. The team is also targeting Madison, Wisconsin to add another Big Ten campus to the roster.
Kaplan shares why it’s prime time to expand the Conrad’s Grill concept, “There has been pent up demand from MSU graduates for years. With such a large population of alumni in Chicago, our team instantly knew this is the perfect first stop on our tot tour. Conrad’s food puts a smile on your face. We’re thrilled to feed hungry and hungover people in Wicker Park and beyond.”
Guests can expect the same quality of food and service they would find at the original Conrad’s Grill locations. The first location in Wicker Park near the six corners is 1,700 square feet with seating for 30.
Conrad’s Grill will offer late-night delivery and catering. Hours of operation are: Monday through Thursday from 11am to 2am, Friday from 11am to 4am, Saturday from 10am to 4am and Sunday from 10am to 2am.
